Ah, info.
Madsen is a German rock band that hails from Priesseck, a section of Clenze in the Wendland. Three of the members are brothers with the surname Madsen, hence the band's name.
Their music combines elements of Pop, Rock, and Punk together with lyrics in German. They released their debut album in 2005 and reached #23 on the German music charts.
All that is to say...This video for their song "Goodbye Logik" is just the catchiest thing I've heard in a long long long long long long time.I sing the chorus to myself.
I sound stupid.
The chorus in German is:
"Goodbye Logik
Alles kommt anders als geplant
Goodbye Logik
Mein Herz besiegt meinen Verstand
Goodbye Logik
Es ist nichts mehr wie es war
Goodbye Logik
Mein Herz besiegt meinen Verstand "
-which in turn translates ruffly to........WAIT! THERES NO ENGLISH TRANSLATION?????
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh well.
I love it love it love it.
No mp3 though, working on it.
Heres the video:
Madsen: "Goodbye Logik"
Keep up the fight, Madsen.
You'll be regular Rammsteins yet.

UPDATE!!!
I think that the line
"Mein Herz besiegt meinen Verstand"
Actually means something like:
"My Heart attacks (maybe destroys???) my mind"
Thank you Rammstein and Tele, for pouring useless German into my brain.
If anybody that reads this figures the chorus out,
comment on it.
That is all.

UPDATE NUMERO DOS!!!

Which means free mp3's fo youse guyse.
Here's Me Favoritas:

mp3: "Du Schreibst Geschichte"
mp3: "Ein Sturm"

Glad to hear that the boys are even liked overseas! Actually I also lived in the Wendland area of Lower-Saxony in Germany for the first 22 years, my parents still live there so I come back often. I followed the rise of Madsen from the beginnings when they pre-Madsen were in a kind of HC band with a very silly name Hoerstuatz (acute hearing loss).
I found your blog while following up searches for my blog www.not-rock-on.blogspot.com. There are even some posts for Madsen and the history of the Wendland there. Have a look, especially at the history links and look for Tag X!
It is a very special region. During the cold war we were almost cut off from the FRG, only one direction possible: West, as we were surrounded by borders to the GDR. In 1977 (coincidence?) politicians decided the nuclear waste dump gor West-Germany should be built there, bad plan. There was very little population density, very close to the GDR, they thought it would be easy as pie. WRONG! From the beginning there was large resistance against this within the rural, mostly very conservative population and the farmers. Later on the professional protesters from the cityies joined, many even moving there. We managed to hinder these projects till today although since a few years at least one transport of radioactive junk is transported there every year. They need thousands of police and state troopers to get it through the protesters. The Wendland has changed a lot since 77. Then it was far off, only some people from Hamburg and Berlin used it as holiday and weekend resort as it was close. By now many artists and creative people moved there as now it is at the centre of Europe but still very idyllic! A lot of counter culture projects were founded there and are still in existence.
Madsen already released three albums and numerous singles. I am looking forward to their appearance in Lüchow, capital of the Wendland (also known as Landkreis Lüchow-Dannenberg officially), at the Earthquake Festival on July 05.
Find more info at www.madsenmusik.de, at least if you understand a little German. Not sure if there are English versions or fansites yet. At least you can watch some videos!
Best wishes from Germany!
Jörg
But please, DO NOT COMPARE THEM TO THESE RAMMSTEIN IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
